MMTA Auditions Information

Please note that your signed adjudication form is your official notification of results. Please email brent[at]brenthugh.com if there is any discrepancy between that sheet and the online results lists.

Remember that our annual MMTA Conference has been moved to Summer 2009. So no conflict between Auditions & Conference this year!

Schedules

• Auditions schedule (all performers listed by division and performer number, with room number and repertoire; PDF format)

• Auditions block schedule (PDF format) - tells time frame and room for each audition, competition, meeting, and rehearsal for the auditions weekend.
• Teachers with 2 or more students in MMTA Pre-Collegiate Piano Auditions Sunday are assigned a time to help with audition monitoring:
  • Sunday monitor schedule (teachers assigned times)
  • Monitor instructions
  • Keep in mind that if you have a conflict, you can have parents or another responsible adult cover your assigned time, or swap times with another teacher

• Registration for MMTA lunch on Saturday, Nov 8th ($8) is on p. 15 of the Fall Issue of MMTA Notes.
• The Delmar Loop, immediate adjacent to the WUSTL Music Center, has been named one of the "Great Streets in America" because of all the restaurants, shopping, and being a generally friendly place to visit--be sure to get out and enjoy it!). Map of restaurants & parking on the Delmar Loop.

• WUSTL has a page with construction updates & information, also check the MoDOT page (many area roads & highways will be closed at auditions time, affecting travel in the area)

Driving Directions and Parking

• Use Google Maps to find directions to the WUSTL Music Center, Washington University, 560 Trinity Ave St Louis, MO 63130 (note: do not use Mapquest for directions--the directions are incorrect!) or follow these directions:

  From Eastbound and Westbound I-70 Take I-170 southbound. Take the Forest Park Parkway exit. Turn left onto Big Bend Rd. Turn right onto Delmar Ave. Turn right on Trinity Ave.

• Parking is available behind the Music Center in the parking lot across from the Center of Creative Arts (COCA) (map of parking location). Also much parking is available in the area near the Center.

Lodging

• The official hotel for MMTA is:

  Two stops away from auditions location via metro (see map of area, small Ms designate metro stops)

  Reservations must be received by October 17, 2008 to receive the MMTA rate
  Shuttle details:

  Teachers must sign up at the bell stand for to/from shuttle service. Crowne Plaza is willing to provide the service on an "as needs" basis. But, teachers must sign up for each day or time they wish to take advantage of the offer. Something in writing is necessary.
  
  The person in charge is Assistant Manager Kim Phillips, should there be further questions.

• Other nearby hotels
• If your students are seeking a cheaper hotel rate and don't need to stay nearby the auditions, you may have them look at hotels on the western side of the St. Louis metro area--like in St Charles, Wentzville, or even Warrenton.

  SPECIAL NOTE FOR MMTA PRE-COLLEGIATE TEACHERS: Your are especially encouraged to use the FORM A ONLINE APPLICATION. This will automatically enter your student information in a database, saving time and avoiding errors.

  After filling out Form A online for each student (printing each form as you fill it out), please fill out and print Form B. Submit the printouts of all your Form As along with the printout of your Form B and your check.

• 2007 Conference information and pre-registration form
• MMTA Sunday Monitor Schedule and Letter to Teachers - MMTA teachers with 3 or more students in the auditions Sunday are scheduled to help with audition monitoring. Teachers can do the monitoring personally or find a responsible adult as a replacement.
• 2007 Auditions Room Block Schedule (Excel Format) - mostly for use by auditions officials, this Excel file lists each room available and the auditions, rehearsals, piano tuning, or other activities scheduled for that room.
